| GIFT Gab on February 9
 | |
We know there is a Winter Storm Warning for this Tuesday. We plan to have the 11:00am event regardless of the weather. We will decide about the evening event by 3:30pm. Look back here after that time with an announcement about whether we will cancel or go ahead with the meeting.
Join GIFT on Tuesday, February 9 at 11am or 7pm for a time to meet our new Faith Advocacy Coordinator. Theresa McClellan will share thoughts on her work and specific projects including the "Gay Christian? Yes!" Campaign and the roles you may choose to play.
So pack a brown bag lunch and join us at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 9 or come later in the day with a snack to share (if you like) at 7 p.m.
The location will be 207 East Fulton, the First Place building of First United Methodist Church in downtown Grand Rapids. If you are arriving for the lunch meeting and cannot find parking on the street, turn into the second drive behind the First Place building, push the buzzer on the little white box, and tell the greeter that you are here for the GIFT meeting. The gate will go up, and you can find a parking spot.
For both the lunch and evening meetings walk up the ramp on the Barclay side of the building, and look for a sign on the door directing you to the room.
Please RSVP so we may hold the right space.
| Faith Advocacy Coordinator Begins Her Work
 | |
GIFT is excited to announce that Theresa D. McClellan started her work as GIFT's first-ever Faith Advocacy Coordinator at the beginning of January. Theresa is leading GIFT’s efforts to build a coalition of area churches, other organizations, and individuals to lay the foundation for a new “Gay Christian? Yes!” campaign. Our goal is to launch the multi-faceted, area-wide campaign in 2012. GIFT is grateful to the Arcus Foundation for a generous two-year grant that makes this new staff position possible. Theresa joins Rev. Jim Lucas (Chaplain) and Jeff Bell (Administrative Assistant) on the staff of GIFT.
